Her research is interdisciplinary within the area of Youth Studies and focuses on young people's experiences of marginalisation, youth transitions to adulthood, youth policy and youth justice. She has recently finished a Policy Fellowship with the Youth Futures Foundation (What Works Centre for Youth Employment), leading a major interdisciplinary complex mixed methods research and policy project with key stakeholders. Hannah draws on her previous professional experiences in policy and youth work and has over two decades experience of participatory approaches to working with marginalised groups, particularly young people and those incarcerated in prison. She is Co-Director of the Inside-Out Prison Programme at Durham and co-leads several research projects with women with experience of the Criminal Justice System. She is also currently Research Director for the Global Centre for Contextual Safeguarding.
